GAMISETHA
Gamisetha is a special Project which implemented under the Rural Development sector. The main objective of this project is to strengthen the economical standards & uplift the living conditions of the low level people. Apart from that increasing savings of the members in rural development Societies and encouraging their investments.
The registered Rural Development societies deposited some of their earned money as savings to commence the rural development fund & then they built up the Gamisetha Fund.
Rs.11, 855,000.00 Loan has been given 790 families to commence paddy cultivation, small industries, & self employment projects under this Gamisetha Project.
A scholarship fund also established in 2001 to assist the students who got through in A/L s and qualified to the University education in rural development societies, to continue their higher education under this Gamisetha Project. 40 lacks released from the rural Development Societies for this Gamisetha fund to give 535 scholarships for Southern Province in 2006.

HOUSING
Under Housing secter PROVINCIAL SPECIFIC DEVELOPMENT GRANT has given to the homeless needy lower level income families who live with public assistance and suitable for get public aid, to construct their houses. Also provide facilities to construct door, windows floors & roofs to suit their requirements.
300 houses constructed with the assistant of the Rural Development societies in 2006.

WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CENTERS
Under Rural Development Sector, maintained 32 women developing centers by Provincial Secretariat Division Level In 2006.
The main objective is training ladies and girls about sewing, saree embroidering,
Making Handy Crafts saree panting & Cookery.
This training programms lead them to earning their living conditions by starting self employment projects.
