VISION Catering energy needs of the marginalized communities in the Southern Province.

MISSION To meet the demand for energy among marginalized communities with safe, renewable effective, environmentally acceptable choices for the people of Southern Province. Such process is to be provided in the most economically and social efficient manner, promoting sustainable economic development and social well being of the communities in the Sourthern Province of Sri Lanka.

OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS 1. Implementation of policies, plans, and programs in respective of alternative energy. 2. Co-ordination of alternative energy matters. 3. Investigation, planning, and development of alternative energy sources through out the southern province including bio gas, wind power, solar energy, micro hydro, geothermal energy, tidal power and dendro power. 4. Supply of rural energy power. 5. Renewable energy development. 6. Development of sound ,adequate and uniform alternative energy policy for the control ,regulation ,utilization of provincial alternative energy resources.
